Wednesday, October 10 
Travel day and arrival into Johannesburg. The trek will kick-off with a special welcome reception and dinner at the hotel.

Thursday, October 11
The day will begin with a short flight from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit, a city in eastern South Africa, bordering Kruger National Park. You will have the opportunity to visit a Literacy Program school supported by Room to Read upon arrival, and the afternoon will include a discussion of the programs that Room to Read manages in South Africa, including an interactive session to learn more about the book publishing component of our program.

Friday, October 12 
The focus of today will be to visit two Literacy Program schools supported by Room to Read. Our Literacy Program provides schools with tailored assistance to ensure students have the instruction and resources they need to develop strong literacy skills and a habit of reading. The visits will take us through reading and writing instruction activities in the classroom, followed by time in the library to read with the children from the library's collection of colorful and engaging materials. You will have a chance to rest, relax and reflect on our Room to Read visits over a farewell dinner in the evening.

Saturday, October 13
Spend the morning on a game drive at Kruger National Park, taking in the amazing sights of this world renowned home of hundreds of species. After a lunch, the group will depart back to Johannesburg, parting ways.
