When stories inspire possibility: Room to Read named Global Social Impact Partner of Rebel Girls in new chapter with Her Campus Media

Stories can expand what girls believe is possible for their lives. When girls encounter role models who challenge expectations, overcome obstacles and pursue their ambitions, they can begin to envision new possibilities for themselves.

That’s the idea behind Room to Read’s long-standing partnership with Rebel Girls. Together, we have elevated the stories of girls supported by Room to Read, paired inspiring role models with practical learning and created books and audio experiences that invite more girls to see themselves as changemakers.

Now, following Her Campus Media’s acquisition of Rebel Girls, the partnership is entering an exciting new chapter. Room to Read has been named Rebel Girls’ official Global Impact Partner, bringing together three organizations with a shared commitment to championing girls through storytelling, education and community.

Storytelling that creates change

For the past five years, Rebel Girls has brought Room to Read students’ experiences to readers and listeners around the world. "Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls: 100 Inspiring Young Changemakers," audio stories narrated by Room to Read CEO Dr. Geetha Murali, and most recently, "Girls Like Me" are among the creative collaborations that have featured girls supported by Room to Read around the world. By centering voices from communities too often missing from global media, these stories allow girls to recognize their own experiences, cultures and aspirations on the page — while giving readers everywhere a broader, more authentic picture of courage, leadership and possibility.

Connecting inspiration with the skills to thrive

Rebel Girls has reached more than 50 million girls across more than 115 countries through stories celebrating remarkable women and girls. Room to Read brings decades of experience delivering life skills programming for adolescents that build dignity, resilience and future readiness.

Together, we will connect Rebel Girls’ inspiring stories and role models with Room to Read’s life skills programming, strengthening their ability to navigate challenges and make informed decisions about their own futures.
