Actor and Comedian Nicole Travolta Joins Room to Read as Global Ambassador

June 17, 2026

Room to Read, a global education nonprofit nurturing foundational learning skills in children, today announced actor, comedian, writer, and creator Nicole Travolta as its newest global ambassador.

“Nicole’s comedy is rooted in authenticity and honesty - sharing stories about identity, resilience and the complexity of building a life on your own terms,” said Dr. Geetha Murali, CEO of Room to Read. “That commitment to truth-telling deeply resonates with our belief that literacy and life skills give children the confidence to define themselves and their futures. We are especially inspired by her ability to connect with audiences in a way that helps people feel seen and less alone in their own experiences. That ability is especially powerful for girls who are learning to find their voices, trust their own potential and move through the world with confidence and authenticity. We are thrilled to welcome Nicole as a global ambassador and look forward to the impact we will create together.”

In joining Room to Read as a global ambassador, Travolta will use her platform to raise awareness for its mission and help mobilize action around global literacy and life skills. Through the partnership, she will champion efforts to address the global education crisis and promote the importance of foundational learning for children everywhere, including supporting fundraising efforts that advance Room to Read’s work.

“I’m incredibly honored to join Room to Read as an ambassador,” said Travolta. “Storytelling has completely shaped my life and career, and I believe every child deserves access to the education and literacy tools that allow them to discover their voice, confidence, and future. I’m especially proud to support an organization that empowers children and adolescents, particularly girls and young women, to advocate for themselves, lead with confidence and authenticity, and navigate challenges through the power of education and storytelling.”

Travolta is best known for her acclaimed one-woman show Nicole Travolta is Doing Alright, which blends comedy, impressions, and deeply personal storytelling. The show has toured internationally, including a sold-out Off-Broadway run at SoHo Playhouse in New York City. She has appeared on FX’s Anger Management, CBS’s Two and a Half Men, and ABC’s The Middle, and trained at The Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade.
