You'll leave with a deeper connection to our work—and to the bright futures being written every day in Tanzania. After a day full of inspiration and connection, we’ll return to Dar es Salaam for an early group dinner and time to reflect together. Wednesday, November 12 - Board Meetings & Collaboration Guests are free to depart following the day's meetings. We'll confirm the timing for both meetings shortly. Arrive in the vibrant city of Dar es Salaam and check in to your hotel where Room to Read staff will warmly welcome you. In the evening, join fellow board members at the Hyatt Regency Dar es Salaam, The Kilimanjaro, for a reception and dinner to connect, set intentions for the days ahead, and hear what’s in store.
Departing from the Hyatt Regency, experience the heart of Room to Read’s mission as we spend the day at a partner school implementing our Literacy and Girls’ Education Programs. Step into early grade classrooms and a vibrant school library to see how we are building a foundation for lifelong learning. Engage in meaningful conversations with teachers, students, parents, and school leaders, and join a powerful Life Skills session with secondary school girls.
The morning begins with a Global Board meeting, offering updates, strategic insights, and a chance to shape the path forward. Later, we’ll be joined by our Regional Board members for a joint session focused on collaboration, shared learning, and deepening our collective impact.
