Tanzania Journey 2025

Tanzania Journey 2025

We’re thrilled you’re considering joining Room to Read’s Journey to Tanzania! This special experience offers an opportunity to travel alongside members of our Global Board of Directors and executive leadership team, while witnessing the power of our programs in action.

Throughout the journey, you’ll hear directly from our local partners and leadership team about the remarkable impact your support has made. Together, we’ll celebrate progress, explore our vision for the future, and deepen our shared commitment to creating lasting change through education.

You’ll be part of a small group of Room to Read investors engaging closely with children, teachers, community members, and government stakeholders. This immersive experience will offer a firsthand look at how we’re transforming lives and building brighter futures—together.

Below you’ll find key trip details. This site will be updated as plans are finalized, so we encourage you to check back often. If you have any questions or would like additional information, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We can’t wait to travel with you!

Please review Room to Read's Visitor Agreement and Child Protection Code of Conduct. This waiver must be signed prior to the visit by each participant and will be sent to you from our team via DocuSign.

To enter the United Republic of Tanzania, you will need a Tanzania Visa and a valid passport with at least one blank page and six months validity remaining.

Visa Type: Ordinary Visa (Single-Entry Visa).

American passport holders: Immigration guidelines recommend that American passport holders apply for a Multiple Entry Visa due to bilateral agreements between Tanzania and America.

For information on visa requirements and to apply for your visa online, please visit this website: https://visa.immigration.go.tz/. To avoid long wait times at airport immigration, we strongly recommend that travelers obtain a visa in advance of arrival.

All trip participants should visit their doctor or local travel clinic at least 4-6 weeks before their departure to discuss recommendations and immunizations for traveling in Tanzania.

For more information on immunizations either recommended or needed for travel to Tanzania, please visit the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s website or consult your local travel clinic.

Room to Read strongly recommends that participants purchase travel insurance, or ensure that their regular insurance plans cover travel-related illnesses and injuries. All participants will be requested to provide insurance information prior to travel.

There are several companies that offer travel insurance. Below, we have listed two that you can contact directly. You can also call your insurance agency to see what is already included in your plan.
