Education is a human right, yet barriers to education disproportionately affect girls. To go to school, girls in many communities must overcome challenges like cultural bias, discrimination, poverty and violence. The pandemic made matters worse — millions more girls now risk dropping out of school or falling behind.
Room to Read’s Girls’ Education Program has supported more than 3.4 million girls to date, changing gender paradigms in historically low-income communities and strengthening support for girls’ education.

You Create Change is inspired by the remarkable young women featured in Room to Read's first-of-its-kind film series She Creates Change — Dewmini, Diksha, Keya, Naifat, Trang and Yashika — who discover their power through Room to Read's Girls' Education Program and inspire more girls to be the heroes of their own stories.
