The Jungfrau Marathon is known as the most beautiful marathon in the world as runners travel through the picturesque mountain landscape. It really must be seen to be believed! This video will excite any running enthusiast!
In honor of the 20th anniversary of Room to Read, I have decided to take on the challenge and run the course myself. I am encouraging other runners to join our team as we seek to spread the joy of education around the world.
Since becoming involved with Room to Read seven years ago, I have been so proud to be part of this inspiring mission to end global illiteracy and gender inequality in education. So far, we have achieved the extraordinary goal of reaching over 18 million children in 16 countries. Thanks to our work, we are allowing boys and girls to fulfill their potential through the power of education.
The more runners we have on behalf of Room to Read at the Jungfrau Marathon, the more lives we can transform. Keep in mind that over the years, the popularity of the Jungfrau Marathon has attracted runners from across the world and with only 4,000 places available, it sells out within one or two days every year.
So if you would like to take part, make sure to sign up on the website here when places go on sale Friday, February 14. In addition, it would be wonderful if you can help support our work whilst running the marathon, so please make sure to let us know at email@example.com. We can supply you with fundraising information, including a fundraising page, and help you get started.
The race weekend will be far more than the marathon alone. It is a fun event packed full of entertainment in the stunning Swiss mountains, which includes a short family fun run. Room to Read will be present both at the family run and the marathon. Registration for the family run will only open a little later in the year so we will keep you posted!
For now, I would like to encourage all runners to please join me on this challenge! This year, you can run the beautiful Jungfrau Marathon whilst transforming the lives of boys and girls across the world. I hope to see you there. It will be a weekend to remember!
