Great things happen when we activate our personal networks. At Room to Read, it's in our DNA – our mission began when a few people saw a great need and reached out to everyone they knew for help.
All around the globe, we've seen Room to Read's network grow. From the extensive Chapters network hosting fundraising events to students, families and individuals generously donating their birthdays and anniversaries. Ours truly is a global network made up of passionate people from all walks of life.
If you've been inspired by our stories of transformation, or are looking to get involved, now is your chance to join that network and get active for education.
You can do anything to get active for education. Rally your office for a one-day hike, sign up for your first half marathon or commit to cooking a new recipe each week. Get creative! There's no wrong way to get involved.
In 2015, our Sydney chapter started a fundraiser called the Spring Trek – an 18 and 30km hike through Ku-ring-gai National Park. In Tokyo, one of our youngest advocates has been getting active for education since the first grade by challenging himself to jump rope tricks, a poetry reading and juggling. And in San Francisco, two Room to Readers learned classic Bollywood dance moves and shared social media updates in support of our mission.
Together, we have created a global network of connected individuals, changing real lives and leaving a lasting positive impact around the world. We have already invested in the lives of more than 11.5 million children as they traverse life’s steep terrain. But there are still many more to reach.
If you're looking for a way to help, now is your chance. Start your own fundraiser for Room to Read today.
