Saktibrata Sen leads Room to Read’s Literacy and Gender Equality portfolios in India, drawing on more than two decades of experience in program management implementation and evidence‑based advocacy and lobbying. He has designed quality‑oriented, scalable programs that develop literacy skills and reading habits in children, support girls in completing secondary school and engage government stakeholders to advocate for girls’ education.

A dedicated development professional focused on early literacy teacher professional development and children’s text creation, he has done exemplary work in Indian scripts and languages and is passionate about bringing children’s literature into the classroom.

Saktibrata is an alumnus of Presidency College, Kolkata, where he completed his master's in contemporary history. His experience with Pratham equipped him to facilitate two‑dimensional dialogue between knowledge creators and implementation partners, enabling thought leadership at Room to Read India.
