Rishi currently serves as director of program operations at Room to Read in India and is a member of the Country Management Team. In this role, he leads and supports the strategic and operational implementation of Room to Read’s programs nationwide.
Previously, as director of innovations and donor engagement, Rishi managed a diverse portfolio spanning learning and innovation, development of new program models and proposals, communications, and donor engagement. Before that, he spent five years in program operations, overseeing foundational literacy and girls’ education projects in partnership with organizations such as USAID, UNICEF, IKEA Foundation, Central Square Foundation and Warburg Pincus.
Rishi’s earlier tenure at Pratham included leading several foundational learning initiatives across Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. Notably, he spearheaded the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) initiative in partnership with J-PAL in Haryana, regarded as one of the most impactful education interventions. He has represented India’s education sector at several global forums, including UKFIET 2025, the “All Children Reading” workshop in Rwanda and the Nepal Planning Commission meeting, and has contributed to Pratham’s International Collaboration Unit.
Rishi holds a PGDBM in Rural Management from IRM Jaipur and a bachelor's degree in economics, history, and English literature from Ajmer.
