Country Director, Tanzania

Juvenalius joined Room to Read in 2011 and brings a broad range of steward and tactical leadership experience including strategic business planning and management, project design and development, program operations management, construction costs engineering, facilities management, maintenance, sustainability learning and organizational development.

Since 2011, Juvenalius has held multiple roles of increasing responsibility at Room to Read and has proven to be a gifted problem-solver, effective supervisor and trusted colleague. He was responsible for the implementation of Room to Read’s Literacy and Girls' Education Programs in Tanzania as Director of Program Operations and worked with Room to Read as a School Infrastructure Project Manager. 

As the Room to Read Country Director of Tanzania, Juvenalius has successfully led the country management team in developing a four-year strategic plan that will pave the way towards influencing systemic change by focusing on integrating Room to Read’s literacy theory and instructional approach into the national lower grades’ curriculum. In addition, this strategic plan will advocate for and demonstrate an improved library model, strengthen the book publishing industry by increasing both the demand and supply of high quality and diverse learning materials, as well as integrate the Room to Read Girls’ Education Program Life Skills framework into the national guidelines and curriculum. 

Prior to joining Room to Read, Juvenalius held several managerial positions and spent much of his career in the construction industry where he managed various projects working with Sao Hill Energy Limited, Barrick Gold Corporate and Lycopodium (Pty) Limited. 

Juvenalius holds a Masters of Business Administration in Corporate Management degree from Mzumbe University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Economics from the University of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
