Jean-Pierre Twizeyimana is the Country Director for Room to Read in Rwanda, an organization guided by the belief that World Change Starts with Educated Children.®
He brings more than 27 years of experience in book publishing, teaching and learning materials supply chains, including 12 years of leadership with donor-funded foundational learning projects. He joined Room to Read in 2017 through USAID’s Soma Umenye activity, where he led the development, production, printing, and distribution of more than six million books supporting literacy in Rwanda’s lower primary schools. Jean Pierre has strengthened partnerships with the Ministry of Education, Rwanda Basic Education Board, and local organizations, positioning Room to Read as a strategic foundational learning partner in Rwanda.
His previous Room to Read roles include Book Publishing Specialist, Quality Assurance Director, Book Supply Chain Technical Expert, and Associate Director of Literacy Programs. Prior joining Room to Read, he worked with ORINFOR, The New Times Publications, and Education Development Center Inc. (EDC). Jean-Pierre holds an MBA in Project Management, a postgraduate diploma in Theology, and a bachelor’s degree in Business and Information Communication Technology. He is completing a postgraduate diploma in Education and speaks English, French, Swahili, and Kinyarwanda. His expertise includes leadership, program design, project management, digital content development, publishing, quality assurance, branding, writing, editing, and print design.
Jean-Pierre is a devoted husband and father of four, committed to helping vulnerable children, youth, and young women live purposeful, dignified lives.
