What is the Regional Chapter Leadership Summit?

Chapter Leadership members, welcome to the Summit!

The Regional Chapter Leadership Summit (or “The Summit” for short) is a comprehensive and engaging conference toolkit, designed for the entire global chapter network to hold leadership retreats in each region of the globe to come together in person to connect, educate and inspire each other.

The philosophy of the Summit is simple. The more we share as a team and inspire each other with big questions and ideas, the more we’ll grow and learn, and the bigger impact we can make.  The Summit toolkit is a new approach to collaborating as a regional chapter team that will help to identify ways to work collaboratively and set new and exciting goals.  Within the Summit toolkit, there are engaging workshop sessions and thoughtful activities to hone the fundamental skills needed to cultivate and achieve brand awareness– from messaging and storytelling, to holding events and fundraising.

The power of the global chapter network of volunteers is raising brand awareness and sharing the mission and work of Room to Read, while also raising funds. As chapter leaders, we are the face of Room to Read in our communities and are in a unique position to mobilize our communities to create sustainable change.

To learn more about planning a Summit and the Summit materials, please see below.

Kick-off Videos

Start your Summit by watching these exclusive videos together and getting inspired!

Together, we are ending the impossible and creating a world where every child, no matter where they were born, gets a quality education.

Watch: The End of Impossible

IMPORTANT: Please don’t share this video online yet – it will be unveiled for our end of year campaign!
Watch: Welcome to the Summit

Room to Read CEO, Dr. Geetha Murali, welcomes you to the Summit – and the End of Impossible!

Chapter leaders, it’s time to get ready to launch into the impossible. Fasten your seat belts and hold on. We’re taking off in...  5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1!

Summit Workshops

The Summit workshops should serve as conversation toolkits for you and your Summit members to conduct together. They are structured around community building workshops and each shares content that serves as a foundation for discussion. The workshops cover everything from messaging, storytelling, fundraising, goal setting and much more!

Within each workshop, there is a one-hour activity designed for participants to work together and discuss questions and best practices. Choose the workshops that you think would be the most beneficial and useful for you and your chapter network. Customization is encouraged so if a workshop doesn’t fit your chapter region, omit it. If you don’t see a workshop that would be helpful to discuss, create it. And remember that for workshop activities to be fruitful, participation is key – so please openly share your experiences and thoughts with one another. Happy work-shopping!
