Room to Read has set up a new charitable structure that is capable of securing an income tax benefit in both the US and the UK for its donors that pay income tax in both countries. As a result, American donors to Room to Read UK that pay UK and US income tax may now qualify for a deduction in the United States and for Gift Aid relief in the United Kingdom. For more information please get in touch with the UK office at uk@roomtoread.org.

We are happy to accept gifts of stock. For assistance making gifts of stock, please contact us via email at donate@roomtoread.org.

You may make an online donation using our PayPal donation page. This method requires you to have an existing PayPal account or create a new one as part of the donation process. Donations can be made in US or Canadian Dollars, British Pounds, Euros, or Japanese Yen. Please note: all PayPal donations are processed through our Global Office in the United States, so we can only provide a US tax receipt for donations made via PayPal.

We are happy to accept your frequent flyer miles in the form of award tickets. Please take a moment to complete the Pledge to Donate Frequent Flyer Mileage Award Ticket Online Form. Your donation of an award ticket will help keep our overhead costs low and continue to direct much-needed funds directly to our programs.

Room to Read is extremely grateful for the corporate support it receives both as donations and gifts-in-kind.  Barclays Capital, and Credit Suisse are just some of the companies who have recognised the need to provide children with an education to help break the cycle of poverty.

If you are interested in finding out how your company can support Room to Read, please contact uk@roomtoread.org.

In-kind donations are critical to our success. Room to Read relies on supporters’ generous contributions of new books, technology (e.g. software, hardware), new building supplies and materials (e.g. cement, paint) and pro-bono services in order to enhance our programs and maximize the efficiency of our work. Due to the varied needs and requirements of each country of operation, we evaluate each gift-in-kind opportunity on a case by case basis. If you are interested in In-kind donations, please visit our organizational funders page and fill out the partnership inquiry form.

Make your payday even more rewarding through a payroll giving to Room to Read. It's a great way to give as you earn, with your donations deducted before your tax!

How it works

Every time you're paid, your Payroll Department will deduct the agreed amount from your salary and send it to us. Your donation will cost you even less, as it comes out of your gross salary (before tax). So if you agree to give £5, as a basic rate tax payer you’ll only pay £4 - the taxman makes up the remaining £1.
