She lives in Delhi, India and her name means "light"

When she was 15, Roshanara - a dedicated student who wanted to continue her education - was very nearly forced to drop out of school and enter into marriage. But because she was enrolled in our Girls' Education Program, she was able to advocate for herself and had her Room to Read mentor by her side to convince her parents of the value of education.

Now, Roshanara is 19, pursuing a B.A. from Jamila Milia Islamia University and working part-time in a doctor's clinic.

Together we are changing the lives of young women like Roshanara from Delhi. Your support will help keep girls in school and equip them with the skills and confidence to succeed in the classroom and beyond.  Join us today!

The Swarovski Foundation was created in 2013 to pursue charitable goals to honor the philanthropic spirit of Daniel Swarovski, who founded the crystal business in 1895. Its mission is to build on this heritage by supporting charitable initiatives and organizations working in three areas: fostering culture and creativity, promoting well-being, and protecting the environment.

Help more girls like Roshanara stay in school.
