9:00 AM ‐ 10:00 AM
A Zoom link will be provided after registration.
You are invited to join three of the world’s most treasured authors – William Boyd, Max Porter and Dina Nayeri – for a virtual literary event as they share their stories of the joys of giving, receiving and reading books and reflect on how books can become lifelines.
The three authors are featured in the anthology The Gifts of Reading, a collection of essays from writers from all over the world, many of them with connections to the countries where Room to Read works, all of them passionate about the power of words, stories, books. All royalties from the book are generously donated to Room to Read.
The event will be moderated by Room to Read founder, John Wood, who also contributed an essay to the anthology, and features remarks from the book’s curator and long-term Room to Read supporter Jennie Orchard as well as a message from Room to Read’s CEO Geetha Murali. Geetha has described The Gifts of Reading as ‘a timeless and beautiful book. . . a perfect match for our message of reading as a game-changer’.
All ticket proceeds will go directly to Room to Read and we will be encouraging donations to support Room to Read programs around the world.
