Ujjwal Raj Pokhrel

Ujjwal has more than seventeen years of professional experience, including managing development program portfolios in rural/community development, agriculture, renewable energy, private sector promotion, tourism, forestry and financial sector development. Prior to Room to Read, Ujjwal was the National Program Coordinator for the UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) in Nepal. He has worked in management positions with various national and international organizations.  He has also completed various national and international assignments for SNV, the International Network for Bamboo and Rattan (INBAR), GIZ, IFAD, ICIMOD, IDMAT/India, the State Government of Uttarakhand, the Government of the Philippines, Swisscontact and Mercy Corps. Ujjwal’s assignments have taken him to Cambodia, China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Indonesia, the Philippines and Nepal. He also has experience working for large private national and international corporations in marketing, sales and market research. Ujjwal holds an MBA degree from the Philippines.
