Norkham Souphanouvong
Norkham joined Room to Read as the Country Director for Laos in 2013. She has 30 years of experience in the development sector and more than 22 years focusing on education development in Laos, Mongolia and East-Timor.
Her expertise includes early childhood education, early grade reading, inclusive education, child rights, gender equality, education in emergencies, teacher training, health education, HIV/AIDS prevention, youth education, life skills curriculum development and policy development. Prior to joining Room to Read, Norkham worked for UNICEF as an education and gender equality policy specialist and Head of Education Program at Save the Children UK. She holds a master’s degree in public administration from the National University of Singapore and a bachelor’s degree in education from the National University of Laos.
