Explore Nepal
Annapurna

Nepal is the focus country of this year's Students Helping Students program.

Those who have traveled to Nepal have seen the majesty of the Himalayas, the mystery of the jungles, and the tragedy of a country where most people live on less than US$1 per day. It is also home to some of the warmest people in the world, proud people who welcome you to their country, invite you into their homes, and cook you a delicious dahl baht. It is a country overflowing with culture - from beautiful artwork to the fascinating meaning behind the Hindi gods and goddesses. However, it is also a country where half of all people live in poverty, where over 55% of the population is illiterate, and where many children don't have the opportunity to get an education.
