How $1 a day supports Girls’ Education in Cambodia
Atlassian has donated more than US$5 million towards Room to Read's programs in Asia. In 2015, Atlassian was the largest investor in our Girls' Education Program in Cambodia and the largest corporate investor globally. Almost half of Atlassian’s staff also supports Room to Read through its $1/day program.
Collaboration can lead to great things
Since 2005, Credit Suisse has been one of our largest corporate funders. This support has funded several strategic projects, including the development of our 2015-2019 strategic plan and the launch of Accelerator. Credit Suisse also donates office space for Room to Read staff in APAC, and provides capacity-building to country teams through its Global Citizens Program.
Impact through innovative partnerships
Since 2012, Hilton’s partnership with Room to Read included financial support, donated room nights across Asia Pacific, employee engagement, and a first-of-its-kind Job Shadowing/Career Exposure Program for participants of Room to Read’s Girls’ Education Program in India and Sri Lanka. Hilton's support has impacted over 52,000 young people across Asia.
Elevating Room to Read’s work in India
Oracle supports Room to Read’s work by making direct investments in our Literacy and Girls’ Education Programs in India. Since 2015, Oracle has donated over $200,000 to Room to Read’s programs, helping us continue to scale and grow our programs in India.
Helping girls shine in school
Since 2015, the Swarovski Foundation has supported Room to Read’s Girls’ Education Program in India and Vietnam. Through this investment, the Swarovski Foundation has impacted over 650 secondary school girls in the program, ensuring that they have access to the tools and resources needed to succeed.
Rebuilding and getting children back to school in Nepal
The UBS Optimus Foundation supported Room to Read's post-earthquake recovery efforts in Nepal through a USD 1.1 million grant to rebuild schools in Nuwakot and implement our programs throughout the country. This funding is part of the UBS Optimus Emergency Response funding that includes post-emergency children's education as a crucial intervention.

Barneys New York chose Room to Read to be their charitable partner for their 2014 Holiday Collection, designed by director Baz Luhrmann and wife Catherine Martin. 25% of sales from the limited edition Baz Dazzled Holiday Collection was donated to Room to Read.
Eat at BURGER KING® to support literacy around the world
Through donations from generous BURGER KING® employees, franchisees and restaurant guests in select areas in Europe and Asia, as well as donations directly from the BURGER KING McLAMORE℠ Foundation, the BURGER KING® system is supporting Room to Read's Literacy Program in Cambodia, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia for a total impact of more than 69,100 children.
Innovative partnerships result in high-impact outcomes
Since 2013, Citi has partnered with Room to Read through its e for Education initiative, an effort to raise funds for education-related nonprofits around the world. From October to December, Citi donated US$1 for every US$1 million of notional volume traded on Citi Velocity, its award-winning institutional foreign exchange trading platform. This has raised over US$1.65 million for Room to Read.
Taking steps towards eradicating global illiteracy
For every pair of education-themed socks sold, Conscious Step donates the equivalent of two books through their "Socks to Educate Children" campaign.
Empowering women and girls through fashion
A female-owned clothing company seeking to empower women globally, Dôen supports women in the workforce in all aspects of organization, including working with female-owned factories in India. Dôen supports Room to Read’s Girls’ Education Program in India by donating 100% of the profits generated from select items in their children’s line, giving back to the communities that support their business.
Promoting beauty in the heart and mind
Created to bring timeless Japanese beauty wisdom to modern women, Tatcha believes beauty begins in the heart and mind. Tatcha has been a key Room to Read partner since 2014. Through their Beautiful Faces, Beautiful Futures initiative, each full-size skincare purchase funds a day of school for an incredible girl participating in Room to Read’s Girls’ Education Program.
Supporting education through software
Tempo has made philanthropy an integral part of their business model through their Starter License Sales Program. Rather than offering them for free, Tempo charges a small fee for test licenses of one of their three software products and donates 100% of the proceeds to Room to Read.

Engage employees while impacting girls’ education
In March 2016, BNP Paribas teamed up with Room to Read to initiate an Asia Pacific wide employee fundraising campaign. In less than 6 weeks, BNP Paribas and its employees across 14 markets in Asia Pacific, were able to raise enough funds to support over 600 girls for a year of secondary school in India.
Raising millions for Literacy and Girls’ Education
Through Goldman Sachs and Goldman Sachs Gives, this company and its senior executives have contributed over $18 million cumulatively, and over $3 million in 2015 to Room to Read. In 2015, Goldman Sachs supported a wide range of Literacy and Girls' Education Programs for children across Asia and Africa.
Inspired employees lend expertise
Ketchum has provided communications support since 2009. More than 500 employees around the world have donated their skills to help raise awareness and reach new audiences. In addition, employees select a Room to Read project to fund in its entirety every year. To date, employees have collectively raised more than $250,000 to support Literacy and Girls’ Education projects across Asia and Africa.
Engaging a driven workforce
A key partner from the beginning, Salesforce.org leverages its technology, resources and people to support Room to Read. Salesforce.org encourages employees to use their Volunteer Time Off (VTO) on causes they are passionate about. A handful of Salesforce employees have spent their VTO with Room to Read students and teachers on international VTO trips, witnessing the power of education first-hand.
How girls are receiving a chance at a brighter future
The TripAdvisor Charitable Foundation has supported our Girls' Education Program through an employee-championed grant. In addition to this support, TripAdvisor encouraged their employees to donate to Room to Read by gifting everyone with a GlobalGiving gift card during the 2015 holiday season to use for a non-profit of their choice.

Connecting our networks across the globe
Cisco supports Room to Read with licenses to WebEx, its web conferencing and collaborations platform. This support enables Room to Read to conduct face-to-face meetings with integrated video and audio, strengthening our communications capacity worldwide and resulting in a more connected global staff.
How laptops are improving life skills
Lenovo supports Room to Read through the donation of hundreds of laptops to Room to Read staff and mentors in our Girls’ Education Program in Asia. Access to these laptops has increased productivity and collaboration amongst Room to Read teams globally. Specifically, use of the laptops in the Girls’ Education Program has improved the efficiency of life skills workshops and mentoring sessions.
1.5 million books donated... and counting
Scholastic has been an integral part of the Room to Read family for over 15 years. Scholastic has donated over 1.5 million new children's books to Room to Read libraries around the world. This has provided millions of children with access to quality reading materials, and will benefit even more children in years to come.

Ensuring post-earthquake recovery and literacy efforts in Nepal
Dubai Cares is supporting a minimum of 25,000 children through post-earthquake recovery and literacy efforts in Nepal, ensuring reconstruction of 10 schools and implementation of the Literacy Program in 90 additional schools. Dubai Cares is also supporting Research, Monitoring & Evaluation to learn how best to implement programs in a post-disaster environment and achieve strong learning outcomes.

In 2015, Echidna Giving invested in our Literacy and Girls’ Education Programs and 2015-2019 Strategic Plan goals. Investing in the future of girls
The Kendeda Fund has partnered with Room to Read since 2013, providing crucial support to our programmatic and Research, Monitoring and Evaluation work. In particular, Kendeda has invested in our India, Nepal and Bangladesh Girls’ Education Programs, helping ensure that girls receive the support and tools necessary to succeed in secondary school and beyond.
