Daughters of Mother India screening and panel

Presented by the Asia Society and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women, the film "Daughters of Mother India" is a powerful, award-winning documentary which exaines the aftermath of the rape and murder of 23-year-old medical students in Delhi in December 2012. Indian journalist and award-winning filmmaker, Vigha Bakshi, questions how Inidan society is changing after these events. Following the screening, a panel with Vigha Bakshi, Noa Meyer of 10,000 Women, and Rachel Vogelstein of the Council on Foreign Relations will discuss the film and importance of women's empowerment in society.

One of New York’s most famous brewers, Sixpoint Brewing Company, and brilliant bottle shop St. Gambrinus are generously donating a bag of craft beer goodies that we’ll raffle off. All proceeds are going to support Room to Read. Good people, good drinks ...and a great cause!
