One of the best ways to find out more about Room to Read and help spread the word about our mission to educate children in developing countries is to attend an event in your area. Room to Read has volunteer chapters around the globe that host events to help us raise money and awareness for our programs. Experience the fantastic journey of three friends running through Africa. Erin van Wiltenburg will be presenting her story and documentary produced during her four month journey while running through Namibia, Zambia and Tanzania this summer. Together, they raised $50,000 to support sustainable education projects in Africa. A large portion of this donation will support the work of Room to Read in Zambia. Come hear their amazing story! The Sydney chapter's launch event will be a prestigious Wine Gala, jointly hosted by John Wood with Jancis Robinson OBE and Master of Wine. The evening will be supported by the Financial Times and held at the Shangri-La Hotel in the historic Rocks area. Wines for the evening have been donated by a number of Australia's leading boutique wineries, including Kilikanoon and Shaw + Smith, and there will be live and silent auctions, the live auction to be conducted by Andrew Caillard MW, Fine Wine Director at Langton's.
