Aqua Expeditions

Aqua Expeditions actively engages with local communities to raise standards of living through on-going, strategic support for education on the Amazon River in Peru where they operate two luxury small river cruisers, the Aria Amazon and the Aqua Mekong. Inspired by the collaborative success of past cruisers, founder Francesco Galli Zugaro sought an effective channel through which his newest ship, the Aqua Mekong, and its guests could make a sustainable difference within the communities living along the Mekong River in Cambodia and Vietnam. Aqua Expeditions believes that the shared vision with Room to Read of bringing change through education will make a meaningful impact on the Mekong.

Aqua Expeditions is partnering with Room to Read to support literacy in Vietnam and Cambodia. 

Room to Read works directly with communities and local governments across Asia and Africa to develop literacy skills in schools as well as support school girls to receive the life skills they need to succeed in their studies and beyond. The organization has benefited 10 million children over the past 15 years, and its next bold goal is to reach 1 million children per year over the next five years. There is much left to do, and with your help, we can reach many more children. Help us open possibilities by donating to this campaign! 

Our goal is to raise at least US$10,000 for Room to Read by December 31, 2016. This will provide critical support to Room to Read's holistic literacy programs in Vietnam and Cambodia. Children who have a strong foundation of literacy skills are more likely to succeed throughout their education, break the cycle of poverty and be better equipped to realize their full potential.
