Room to Read has volunteer chapters around the globe that host events to help us raise money and awareness for our programs. A Mediterranean Evening

You are invited to "A Mediterranean Evening" hosted by Nathalie Wallin and benefiting Room to Read. This is an international celebration, so show your pride and dress in your country's colors! The price of your ticket includes dinner (hummus, schwarma plate, vegetable medley, and non-alcoholic drinks) and a donation to Room to Read's Girls' Education Program. There will also be music, dancing, and hookah! The event will be held outside and is BYOB, so feel free to bring your favorite alcoholic beverages. Join us at the kick off event of Around the World in Five Days! Viant Capital has opened its lovely outdoor patio to host a Book Swap Happy Hour. Bring a book that is near and dear to your heart and leave with someone else’s. Two drink tickets and appetizers are included with admission! So, round up the co-workers because there won’t be a happier hour than knowing your beer money is supporting girls’ education.

Grab the whole family and join us for dinner, island cocktails, and arcade games by the bay. Players Arcade and Sports Grill will be donating 20% of all proceeds from arcade games and all food and drink served in the Luau Lounge from 6:00-9:00 on. The Luau Lounge is a large back room at Players with an expansive and beautiful view of the bay.

Day 4: Cycling India to Ireland: Pete Brennan

Join us as Pete Brennan shares his experiences of cycling from India to Ireland! Pete and Keara Brennan are an inspirational brother-sister team who cycled over 6,800 miles, raising money for Room to Read. Pete, a professional photographer, will be sharing some amazing images and hilarious stories from his journey through 16 countries. Appetizers, wine, and beer will be provided by Sports Basement. Raffle includes Sports Basement gift cards and a special item from Icebreakers. Sports Basement is also providing a 10% discount to all participants and will in turn donate 10% to Room to Read. The $10 suggested donation will help the Brennans and Room to Read reach their goal of $24,000 (CAD).
Directions for Sports Basement Underground Parking:
If you're on Bryant and you pass Sports Basement on your right, keep going and take a right onto 16th and another right onto Florida. If you're coming from the other direction, turn left on 16th BEFORE you get to SB and then right onto Florida.

Namaste India! is a global yoga event that engages everyone in the worldwide yoga community to give back to a country that has given us the incredible system of yoga—teachings that inspire millions of people on a daily basis. All proceeds will go to support Room to Read's Girls' Education Program in India, because we know that when we educate a girl, we educate the next generation. Participating yoga studios and teachers from around the world are pledging a portion of their proceeds on June 16th to Room to Read. By attending a yoga practice at one of the participating studios, you’ll be directly contributing to the cause. Find a participating yoga studio near you!

The Zurich Chapter is leading a global yoga fundraising event during the 24 hours of June 16. In the spirit of service and with a worldwide fundraising goal of $37,500, yoga teachers from around the world are invited to hold a 60-90 minute yoga class with all proceeds going to Room to Read. The event can be held in conjunction with a Room to Read Chapter (find a chapter here) or a teacher or studio can participate separately. Particpants can include adults and children and all participants can seek sponsorship for their participation. All information and registration materials are available here.
